Freedom to travel

Manx2 combines the best practices of the top low-cost airlines, with the standards of service our customers deserve. We keep our fares down, while giving you as much freedom as possible to travel with the luggage you want.

Before reading the information below, please take a second to familarise yourself with the baggage icons below, these baggage icons are guides in size to the terms used in your baggage information: Hand baggage, Checked baggage and Excess baggage.

What is your policy on baggage?

Due to aircraft size we have to strictly enforce baggage restrictions.

  • Our total luggage allowance per passenger is 20 Kilos in total, INCLUDING ALL hand baggage, cabin and hold bags.
  • To meet Health and Safety laws, our maximum total weight for a single bag is 32 kilos (28 kilos on Jersey route).
  • Excess baggage weight is charged at a flat rate of £10.00 for the first excess of 3 kgs. Over excess of 3 kgs is charged at £7 per kg
  • Unless you purchase a Manx Gold ticket, we charge £9.99 bag for hold luggage booked in advance on-line or our standard charge of £20 per bag is payable at the desk when you check in for your flight.
  • Customers can take one item of hand luggage to the aircraft free of charge, as long as it fits into the luggage gauge sizer at check and weighs less than 10kg:

1.The dimensions of the sizer are: Length: 50cm, Width: 35cm and Height: 22cm.

    2. Any bag larger or heavier than this must be checked in, with a charge of £9.99 bag if pre-paid on-line or £20 per bag payable at check in.

    3. On arrival at the aircraft, crew or ground staff will place the hand luggage in the hold, unless it is small enough to fit under the seat. Customers then collect their hand luggage as soon as they get off the aircraft. Checked in bags will be available as normal on the baggage carousel in the terminal building.
  • If you are traveling with particularly heavy or bulky luggage (such as golf clubs or fishing rods), you must notify our reservations team in advance who will try and make sure they get on your flight. Otherwise they will be carried on the next available flight with collection and insurance remaining the responsibility of the passenger.

Here are the most recent security guidelines from the
Department of Transport:

Liquids

Some liquids are allowed through airport security check points. However, there are however, restrictions on the quantity of liquids that can be taken through:

Passengers may carry small quantities of liquids, but only within separate containers less than 100ml.

These containers must be brought to the airport contained in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag (about the size of a small freezer bag), which itself must not exceed 1 litre in capacity (approximately 20cm x 20cm). The contents of the plastic bag must fit comfortably, with the bag tightly sealed. Each passenger is limited to one bag of liquids.

The bag must be presented separately for examination at the airport security point.

Please note:

  • Any containers larger than 100ml (excluding essential medicines, see section below) will NOT be allowed through the security search point
  • Most liquids of any amount may still be carried in hold baggage

Remember that 'liquids' includes:

  • All drinks, including water, soup, syrups
  • Creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara, etc
  • Sprays and pressurized containers including shaving foam and spray deodorants
  • Pastes, including toothpastes
  • Gels, including hair and shower gel
  • Any other solutions and items of similar consistency

Essential medicines

Essential medicines for the period of the trip may be permitted in larger quantities above the 100ml limit, but will be subject to authentication. Passengers must have obtained the prior agreement of the airline with which they are travelling and their departure airport. Passengers must also bring with them supporting documentation from a relevant qualified medical professional.
